About the Art Piece 

1. Objective of the Contest: 

The contest aims to foster creativity and environmental awareness by promoting the creation of artworks using recycled materials. We seek to highlight the ingenuity and skill of participants to transform objects into masterpieces. 

2. Participants: 

a. The contest is open to all individuals over 18 years of age. 

b. Each participant must present on their social networks the artwork made from recycled material and created by themselves. 

c. The artworks must be original and not have been presented in other contests. 

3. Theme: 

a. The theme is open, but the artworks must reflect the themes of sustainability and recycling. 

b. Participants are encouraged to explore the relationship between society and the environment. 

4. Materials: 

a. All artworks must be primarily composed of recycled materials. 

b. Recycled materials must constitute at least 70% of the total artwork. 

c. The use of additional materials is allowed if they do not constitute more than 30% of the artwork. 

5. Size and Format: 

a. Any technique from the visual arts may be used. 

6. Presentation of Artworks: 

a. The author of the artwork must share their creation through their social networks with video and photos on Tiktok, Instagram and Facebook tagging our corporate accounts:

b. Each work must be accompanied by a brief description explaining the inspiration, its history, the creation process and the materials used. 

7. Jury: 

a. A panel of judges will be composed of experts in art and environment, who will evaluate the artworks. 

b. The evaluation criteria will include originality, creativity, theme impact, technical quality, and effective use of recycled materials. 

8. Prizes: 

a. A prize of a 5-night stay for the winner and immediate family at any of the Sandos Hotels & Resorts Mexico; Sandos Cancun, Sandos Caracol Eco Resort, Sandos Playacar, or Sandos Finisterra will be awarded. It is noted that the prize is designated for a maximum of five people. It is crucial to emphasize that this allocation has been determined with the intention of ensuring a fair and equitable distribution among family members. Important to note that it does not include travel expenses or transportation costs. 

b. Prizes will be announced on June 5 through our social networks. Valid for travel from March 21, 2024, to March 21, 2025 (excluding Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving, and Easter).

9. Exhibition: 

If circumstances allow, the selected artworks will be exhibited at the Sandos Caracol Hotel, in which case each participant will be responsible for the transportation of their artworks, as well as their removal once the exhibition is concluded. 

The exhibition will be open to the public and promoted to increase the visibility of the participating artists. 

10. Acceptance of Rules: 

Participation in the contest implies total acceptance of the rules and conditions established in this document, and by participating, it is understood that you have read, accepted, and understood these rules and are committed to comply with the requirements and conditions set forth herein. 

11. Modifications: 

The organization reserves the right to make modifications to the regulations if necessary, notifying participants in advance.

12. Additional Guidelines: 

By participating in this contest, it is understood that the participants are the authors of the artworks that they share through the means established in these rules, and consequently, they are the holders of all copyright, intellectual property rights, and/or any other rights ("Rights") that, as authors of the artworks, correspond to them. Therefore, the use of their artworks for the purposes of this contest does not violate the Rights of any third party. 

Participants retain all Rights to their artworks, however, by registering in the contest, and/or sharing images and/or videos of their artworks according to these rules, or by physically presenting them to be part of the contest referred to in these rules, participants (authors of the artwork) authorize the reproduction of these in copies or specimens, made by any means whether printed, graphic, plastic, audiovisual, electronic, photographic or similar, exclusively for exhibition or promotion of the contest, without the right to claim any compensation or payment. 

The artworks delivered for exhibition will be returned once the exhibition is concluded, at a place, time, and day agreed upon between the participants and the organizing party. If the participants do not show up to collect their artworks, the organizing party is not responsible for the safeguarding and preservation of the artworks, authorizing the organizing party to dispose of the artworks as it sees fit, expressly renouncing to claim any compensation or payment. 

Participants of the contest declare under their responsibility the original character of their artwork. Likewise, they state that they do not violate or infringe trademarks, copyrights, designs, models, nor any other intellectual or industrial property rights, or other third-party rights. 

Participants accept and commit to respond to any judicial or extrajudicial claim, as well as to any other claim related to the Rights, that may arise against the organizing party and undertake to indemnify and hold the organizing party (its affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, managers, representatives, proxies, directors, and advisors, as applicable) harmless from any demand, claim, action, or requirement by third parties. 

All participants acknowledge that participation in the contest does not imply the acquisition of any intellectual property right of any nature over any trademarks or creations that are the property of the organizing party, including, without limitation, trademarks, designs, or copyrights, and that any use of such trademarks or creations could lead to legal actions.
