Getting married in Mexico

REQUIREMENTS TO GET MARRIED IN MEXICO:

Groom  & Bride MUST ARRIVE  AT LEAST THREE WORKING DAYS (Monday to Friday) PRIOR TO THE WEDDING DATE and must provide the following documentation :

-Valid Passports:
Although passports are not required for US Citizens for their entry into Mexico, they are mandatory for weddings.
-Tourist Visa:
They are provided upon entry to Mexico at the airport.
- Original blood test & Medical certificate:
The blood test must be done in Playa del Carmen, or in any other place within the Mexican territory and it must be certified by a Doctor in Mexico, as required by the Civil Ministry. This is to determine blood type, H.I.V and S.T.D.  Under the Mexican Law couples that test positive cannot get civilly married in Mexico. Blood test it is done at the hotel and arranged by the wedding coordinator at the cost of $ 220 USD per couple to be paid in cash.
-Four witnesses (They can be relatives or friends):
These are required by Law. If witnesses are not Mexican citizens, they must provide a copy of their passport or any official photo ID and their tourist visa. Plus, they must arrive at least 3 working days prior to the ceremony. The hotel can provide them with an additional charge of $30 usd each one.

The following may be included with an extra cost to any of our packages (If it’s not included in the package you choose). Please ask our Wedding Coordinator for prices of the following::
 
-Photographer or Videographer.
-Mariachi or other musical group.
-Blood test, (It is done in the Resort.).
-Translation to another language.
-Bouquet, Boutonnière, Corsages, etc.
-Make up artist for the bride and hair style, you can make your appointment previously with the Spa.
-Special decoration, small bubble making bottles, rice wraps, small ornament bells decorated with flowers, etc.
-Private dinner or cocktail party in one of our swimming pool areas with a minimum and maximum number of guests. At a special price, please ask our Wedding Coordinator for options and menus for your Wedding dinner.
 
IMPORTANT NOTES

-Name on Tourist ID and Passports MUST be the same according to the Mexican Law.
-Marriage Certificate needs an apostille to be valid in your Country, it applies an extra charge  of 50 usd plus delivery charges.
-In case the bride is divorced, please check the special documentation required to fulfill the Mexican Laws.
-These documents should be given to the Civil Judge TWO BUSINESS DAYS before the Wedding (the Civil Registry Office open from Monday to Friday).
-In case the Judge who speaks English is not available, the translation will cost 50 usd.
-In case of bad weather the ceremony will take place in an alternative closed area.
-Dress Code for the restaurants is casual- formal. Long pants and closed shoes are mandatory for men.
-These packages are valid ONLY for guests staying at Sandos Hotels & Resorts. If your guests are not staying at our Resorts there will be an extra charge of $ 77 USD per adult and $ 39 USD per child as a “day pass”.
