SANDOS CARACOL ECO RESORT & SPA UPGRADES FACILITIES WITH ENVIRONMENT & COMFORT OF GUESTS IN MIND

The Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa is well underway to becoming the number one environmentally-friendly property in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, and is upgrading 128 of their rooms to create Ecological rooms that reduce the CO2 emission by 75%.
The room upgrades began on Aug. 18, 2010 and will last through until Nov. 15, 2010. The scope of the room improvements will include:
• ultra efficient air conditioning systems with low electrical consumption
• solar system to heat water to avoid the use of gas
• internal lighting system with LED
• furniture made from certified wood
• efficient recycling system of waste water
In addition to the room upgrades, the project will also create a new ocean front BBQ Chill out Café with a wedding gazebo, a new El Gaucho restaurant for 250 people with show cooking and a luxury beach club with night bar and live music for more entertainment.

Sandos Hotels & Resorts has created a new green line of hotels, consisting of Sandos San Blas in Tenerife (Canary Islands) and Sandos Caracol in Riviera Maya (Mexico). Both have something in common that make them very different to any other accommodation: the natural areas that they protect and show to the travelers.
